The service below is for P-39s whose version the sources do not name: USAAF in New Guinea (first combat near Lae on 30 April 1942), Guadalcanal and the Aleutians (September–November 1942) and North Africa and the Mediterranean; Soviet regiments from 16 May 1942 (19th Guards IAP in the Arctic) to 9 May 1945; Free French GC 3/6, 1/4 and 1/5 over the Mediterranean, Italy and southern France (1943–1944); Italian Co-Belligerent 12° Gruppo over Albania from 18 September 1944.
